How do you turn passion into profit?

I’m going to tell you the 5 things that you need to do to build your business and live an incredible life on your terms, doing something that you love.

I know that you’re thinking ‘that will never be me’, so first we need to start with your intentions.

The internet has become a place of massive opportunities and anyone can use the internet to leverage those. You can be an ordinary person and make it happen and you have the ability to create your own success.

Is profit the most important thing in business?

Profit is certainly important in business, otherwise you can’t stay in business, but you hear of many people saying that they can’t stay in a job they don’t enjoy, just for the pay check

So, what’s my passion? you may ask … I can’t tell you what you love, but I can tell you where to begin.

Firstly, make a list of what you’re passionate about,

What lights you up and that you’d love talk about all day?

Nothing is off limits in this exercise, we’re getting everything out of your head and onto paper, no matter how silly you think it sounds, write it down.

Have you been sitting on any ideas that you’ve dismissed? 

When I started, I asked myself what was I was good at? What were my Hobbies? previous or present job experience?

And what problems had I solved for myself or others? This could be at work, for your family and friends or something you have overcome yourself.

What do people ask you advice about?

Maybe ask your friends and family too if you’re stuck on this, it may set your brain off in a different direction.

Passion to Profit conjures up that we must have an idea from what we know to make money. However, don’t dismiss any of your ideas.

People have gone from passion to profit and made money out of the most random niches including:

• Dog training
• Art classes
• Quilting
• Yarn Dying
• Caligraphy

and so many more that you’d never believe could earn the money that they do!  You don’t know what you don’t know right?

So when you  think that random things won’t work, don’t be so sure.

Have you a message to share?

… something that you really stand for and believe? A mission to help people in some way? Something you could teach or coach?

What does that stir up for you, that sounds fun or exciting?

Don’t let negative thoughts tell you that it’s not possible, because it really is.

Don’t get me wrong, this is not a get rich quick scheme. It’s going to be a business that you’re passionate about building and that takes time and effort, but you will figure it out and push through any frustrations to live a life that you love.

It frustrates me to hear that people truly hate their job …

… and still go and sit in traffic to get there and back, then sit in a cubicle all day, just to pay the bills. Yes I totally understand why, because there’s a pay check at the end of it and it’s the easiest route for most. However, no job is safe and guaranteed and how much is freedom worth?

So secondly, what do you want?

This is your journey and your dream life, your vision. So what does success actually mean to you? 

Focus on what you want to bring into your life

This is possible for everyone of us if we only have the vision.

Write this down in a journal or notepad.

Where do you want to be and what does it look like?

You don’t have to know all the details but you have to know what that big vision is. 

Create the future in the picture in your mind imagining that you have no doubt, fears and worries whatsoever.

We must totally concentrate on what we do want, not what we don’t want.

Have fun enjoying this exercise, just let go and think about the possibilities, what would be amazing to create and achieve? Expand your mind to where you want to be in the next 5 years and give yourself the permission to have what you want and create your goals and reality.

Let your imagination wander, nothings off limits, don’t worry about the how to …

Just think of what it will look like and how do you want to feel?

Creating your vision board or file is a fantastic idea that really works.. Stick on quotes that really inspire you, cut out the pictures and create the vibe and look at the bloody thing every single day.

Now, having what you want is a done deal and you have to believe that it’s on it’s way to you already.

10 years ago when I was in a job I didn’t want to be in, I imagined a life the same as I have now. With freedom and time to create something amazing. I didn’t have a clue how I was going to transition out of it and it took me a few years to do so, because at first I opted for the safety. But as I realised that time was going on and 14 months later I still hadn’t started what I wanted to, enough was enough. In reality, I was stagnating on the hamster wheel and it didn’t feel good.

And yes, I had all the feels that you’re having. How do I do it, who am I to do this etc but I did have the awareness.

So this brings me to the third part.

WHO did I need to become to step into my reality?

I had to be an action taker for starters, I had to be bold and believe in myself, all like muscles that become stronger the more you use them.

Imagine, how would your future self, that’s achieved massive success think and make decisions?

You have to become that person now, without being unauthentic, you always need to be yourself that goes without saying, but you have to act like it now.

It’s not about becoming somebody else, it’s about doing what you have to do today to get on that path for your success. We need to take action now, before we think that we have everything together. No procrastinating and messing about, we do it now. That’s why this video has come to you today.

Your vision board will be the inspiration and daily motivation to get you going every morning. Don’t underestimate the drive this will give you when you look at this and know that it’s yours for the taking.

What does the person who you want to become in the next 6-12 months look like? Who do you need to be?

A decision maker, action taker with a ‘coming ready or not’ attitude, that’s how you need to be thinking in order for progress to be made and get from passion to profit. Even if the big goal is hairy scary for you right now and seems out on a limb, know that rewiring your brain, little by little , will get you to your goal.

You are required to be pushed out of your comfort zone, so you need to have that vision of success.

Your mind will trick you with so much BS that you can’t do it with a million reasons, fears, doubt and worries. That’s normal, we all have them but if you focus on them, they keep you stuck.

Nip those negatives in the bud or else they’ll become your reality, just like the visualisations of success will and focus on what you want, not what you don’t want other wise you’ll attract more of the same.

You’ll go from ‘who am I to do this?’ to ‘I’ve got this, I’m gonna make it work!’, you really will.

Write down ‘Why you think you can’t achieve this? and what you think is stopping you?

Look at these statements  in black and white,

Imagine you’d overcome them all and you did have everything you wanted.

How did you overcome those perceived problems?

Maybe by:

• being bolder
• being more disciplined
• reaching out for help
• taking imperfect action
• not be worried about negative people, those people never have success

Successful people do all of the above and more, knowing that everything they want is on the other side of those fears and doubts and by strengthening their faith muscle that they can do the things they need to do and that the more they do them, the easier they are. This too will become second nature to you and part of your identity.

You can change how you’re thinking and make better decisions to become that person, Check in with yourself every day and ask yourself how you’re feeling, what are your worries and doubts today? Connect with this and ask how can I be the best version of myself?

Connect and surround yourself with people who’ll elevate your thinking, who pushed you to be better not the negative people who tell you that you can’t do it because they never will. Read books and learn to expand your thinking, believing that you can make it happen because you really can. I’m proof and if I can do it, anyone can.

Your life will change I’m 100% sure of that, so enjoy the journey of transforming your life.

The 4th thing to have is a Mission and message this is what you want to achieve and make your impact with.

Mine is to help as many entrepreneurs as possible to start and build their dream business, knowing that they can have whatever they want with no ceiling on earnings or achievements.

Starbucks mission is ‘To inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time’

Apple’s is “to bringing the best user experience to its customers through its innovative hardware, software, and services.”

Notice that none of these give the how, that’s not important at this stage, they just have a mission for their business that drives them to a goal.

So have a think about what you’d love to achieve? What impact do you want to have and that you’d pour your heart and soul into.

When you have this simple mission, everything else will work around it. It doesn’t matter if you’re not 100% clear now, it will all fall into place as you move forward, and that’s the key, moving forward and do the work and clarity follows.

Your strong feelings create a message, which makes your business unique. This is something that people will want to buy into and become your movement.

So decide, what you’re going to create and commit to doing it.

When you have the lifestyle you dream of and the freedom to live life on your own terms, you bet it’s worth it. Get clear on your vision and intentional in your persuit, then go for it.
